Further to the below press releases regarding this murder investigation, police can now confirm that the 44-year-old-man that was found dead on Tuesday night is Dugmore Leroy Wright of George Town, Grand Cayman.

The RCIPS would like to extend condolences to the victim’s loved ones in their time of grief.

UPDATE:  Man Shot and Killed Last Night, 6 March

The Cayman Islands Police can now confirm that a 44-year-old-man of George Town that was found unresponsive on  Prospect Drive has been pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

The scene of this incident has since been released and Prospect Drive is now cleared for public use.

Major Incident –

Just before 10:30PM police and other emergency personnel were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Center to a report of a man found lying in the road on Prospect Dr, George Town. The man is believed to have been shot and is showing no signs of life.
A police investigation has been launched into this matter and further updates will be provided.

Further to the above, Prospect Drive has been closed off until further notice due to the incident that took place last night.
Motorist are asked to avoid the Prospect Drive area as much as possible.
