Morritt’s Resort, a 184-unit property renowned for offering “home away from home” ownership vacations to more than 9,000 members over the last 25 years, will open The Londoner – an additional 20-unit luxury section of the property – as the company celebrates its Silver Anniversary in May 2014.

Inspired by the 2012 Summer Olympics, which was hosted in property owner David Morritt’s hometown of London, England, The Londoner units are configured as two-bedroom suites and townhouses, each accommodating up to six people, and three-bedroom penthouses for up to eight individuals. Accommodations at The Londoner feature extra-large private balconies overlooking the beach, beautiful ‘Caribbean Chic’ décor, spectacular ocean views, spacious interiors, fully-appointed kitchens, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

“My dream has always been to build only the finest quality resort and vacation ownership property and we never sacrifice when seeking excellence,” said David Morritt, developer and president of Morritt’s Properties Ltd. “The Londoner has all the ingredients that will help provide a truly luxurious experience in the Cayman Islands and I am very proud of what we have built,” he added.

image004“My staff and I look forward to the next 25 years of offering top-of-the-line vacations and are excited to introduce The Londoner to old and new friends alike,” said Morritt.

Over the last 25 years, Morritt has worked tirelessly to develop his vision of a resort complex that recreates a home-like environment in a tropical vacation atmosphere. A consummate perfectionist and trendsetter, Morritt continues to implement enhancements to the guest experience.

“We are proud to work with David Morritt, an independent developer who has been delivering on the promise of vacation ownership for thousands of consumers and making their vacation dreams come true for more than two decades,” said David Callaghan, vice president, resort sales and service of Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services. “The opening of The Londoner gives owners and guests the opportunity to enjoy beautiful, state-of-the-art accommodations in a stunning setting, along with the same superior service for which Morritt’s is known.”

Guests will enjoy delectable dishes and unique Caribbean cuisine at the resort’s restaurants, David’s Deep Blue Restaurant & Bar and Mimi’s Dock Bar & Restaurant, including daily happy hour specials and festive themed nights.

Among the many on-site leisure activities available to guests are Tortuga Divers and Red Sail Sports, providing jet skiing, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing, banana boat rides, scuba diving, full- and half-day snorkeling trips and boat excursions.

Guests looking for the ultimate in relaxation can experience the soothing, natural benefits of “the sea” as they are pampered in paradise at La Mer Spa. Located on-site at the Morritt’s Resort Tortuga Club, La Mer Spa features a sauna, a manicure/pedicure station, two massage suites and one couples massage suite with shower. Professional therapists are available seven days a week to help guests choose the perfect treatment based on their mood and skin care needs. Prices vary by treatment. La Mer Spa is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Camp David, the resort’s kids activities program, offers fun and excitement for younger guests (ages 4 – 12 years) including sandcastle building, scavenger hunts, cave explorations, beach Olympics, arts and crafts, nature walks and more. Camp David is open daily (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

The resort also features its own shopping center which houses Fosters Express grocery store, Sundry Boutique, Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits, Grand Jewelers, Andy’s Rent-A-Car and Italian Kitchen Restaurant & Pizzeria.

The Morritt’s Resort is the crown gem of Grand Cayman’s Eastern District. Morritt’s architectural brilliance hints of postmodern colonial style ambience fused with the tropical charm of a Caribbean lifestyle – a collage of “home away from home” luxurious accommodations, convenient shopping, ocean sea breeze surroundings and modern amenities with renowned Caymanian hospitality and world-class hotel services.
