By Kristina Tyler From Alive For Football

And an idyllic beach in Scotland came in second place – just behind Bournemouth beach in Dorset. Clearwater Beach was the only USA entry on the world list this year. Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos topped the list with competing beaches in Brazil, Cuba and Aruba also securing top slots.

Clearwater Beach has been named the No. 1 beach, according to TripAdvisor, which notes that the best time to visit is, well, anytime of the year.

In the United Kingdom, the pristine Luskentyre beach on the Isle of Harris, Scotland, was rated second best, followed by Rhossili Bay in Wales and then Brighton beach. Brighton Beach, Brighton, East Sussex Brighton Beach might be pebbly – but its location in the middle of Brighton makes it extremely popular 5. Bournemouth beach is known for hosting an array of activities throughout the year, including the town’s annual Air Festival in August and the Arts by the Sea Festival in October. Hengistbury Head, Bournemouth, Dorset Hengistbury Head is home to over 500 plant species and 300 types of birds 8.

“The largest expanse of white sand on the Gower Peninsula, Rhossili Bay stretches for three miles and it is this vast stretch of sand and towering cliffs which make it popular with surfers, paragliders and ramblers alike”.
