Man injured in Bodden Town shooting

A 43-year-old male resident of Bodden Town was shot in his left shoulder just after mid-night Sunday 15th December 2014 near the Everglo Bar in Bodden Town. The injured man was transported and treated at the  George Town Hospital where he has been admitted; he is in stable condition and his injuries are not considered life threatening. 

No arrest has been made.

Three victims robbed at gun point

Robbery 1

A 38-year-old male resident of George Town reported to Police that on Saturday, 13th December 2014 at about 10:00 pm he was walking home on Martin Drive, George Town when he was approached by two masked men. One of the men was armed with a hand gun, and the other was armed with a knife. They demanded that he hand over what he had. The victim was carrying a bag which contained a Jamaican passport, a bank book, a Blackberry Curve and a Sumsung Duos, which they took. They also took about CI$1,000 cash that the victim had in his pocket. After robbing the victim, they ran off.

No shots were fired, and the victim was not physically injured.

The male with the gun is described as slim build, about 5’ 5” tall. The one with the knife is about 6’ tall, slim build, and he spoke with a Caymanian accent. Both were fully dressed in dark clothing, and they were wearing masks and hoodies over their heads.

Robbery 2

A 37-year-old male and a 35-year-old female, both residents of George Town, reported to Police that on 14th December 2014 they left the Cayman Cabana and walked to their vehicle which was parked in a small parking lot on Rock Hole Road near to the intersection of Rock Hole Road and Mary Street. They were talking in the parking lot when they were approached by two masked men both armed with hand guns. They demanded that they hand over everything. They took the male victim’s cell phone and a small amount of cash; nothing was taken from the female victim. After the robbery, they ran off towards North Church Street. No shots were fired, and the victims were not physically injured.

One was described as about 5’ 9” tall, dark complexion, and he spoke with a Caymanian accent. There was no description given of the other suspect.

Investigators of the George Town CID are treating both incidents as connected.
