Wisconsin ‘mass shooting’ at Brookfield spa
A number of people are feared to have been shot at a spa in Brookfield, Wisconsin, US media report.
A large number of police arrived at the Azana spa after witnesses said they saw a man with a gun shooting.
Four people were treated for non-critical injuries – three more are on their way to hospital, local media say.
The area across the street – Brookfield Square mall – is in lockdown. Police and specialists teams are said to be looking for the shooter.
The shooting began around 11:15 (15:15 GMT).
A quick reaction Swat team and hostage negotiators are also on the scene – in addition to FBI personnel.
A local channel, WISN-TV, reported police have been asking people to evacuate the mall’s parking lot.
At least 20 fire, ambulance and police vehicles are there in addition to a medical helicopter on the ground.
It was the second mass shooting in Wisconsin this year.
In August, Wade Michael Page, a US Army veteran with ties to white-power groups, killed six people as they prepared for a service at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee.
Seven people were killed in March 2005, when a gunman opened fire at a Living Church of God service held at a hotel.
