Whispers of August

Sacred Feminine, Water, and Remembering

Welcome Family and Friends,

We are now in the sacred eighth month—a time that marks more than the passage of days. August invites us to listen deeply, to reflect on what is ripening in our lives, and to begin whispering our intentions into the next season. It’s a global moment when rivers swell, rains fall, ancestors are honoured, and wisdom is ripe.

Yet, many of us were taught—sometimes subtly, sometimes brutally—to disconnect from these ancestral rhythms. We were taught to prioritize productivity over presence, systems over spirit, and spectacle over sustenance. But the ancient in us remembers. The bloodlines in our bodies remember. The stories we carry—and the ones we’ve forgotten—remember. And now, we are remembering together.

This month, we celebrate Òṣun, the sacred presence of sweet waters, fertility, deep reflection, and generative joy. Whether you know Òṣun as an Orisha, an ancestral archetype, or a powerful metaphor for sacred feminine wisdom—her essence offers lessons for every leader. Before colonization and conquest, our communities revered water as life, not a commodity but a communicator. Òṣun teaches us how to mirror the divine, how to reflect goodness back into the world with softness, grace, and clear boundaries. Her wisdom does not scream—it flows. It teaches us that abundance is not about accumulation—it’s about alignment.

Think of a waterfall. It does not need to crash loudly to shape the stone. It moves with consistency. Water teaches us the power of gentle force, of clarity and flow, of emotional and ecological intelligence. Without water, there is no life. Without joy and compassion, there is no leadership. This is how sacred feminine wisdom flows into the work of leadership: not through domination, but through renewal.
Let this month be your mirror. Let it reflect not just who you are becoming, but what you’ve always carried.

Final Reflection: Let the Water Speak
Water is the first teacher. It teaches us rhythm, resilience, and replenishment. It reminds us that we do not have to crash to make an impact—we just have to flow with intention. This is how we lead, how we live, how we rise.Let us not be afraid to return.Let us not be ashamed of our sacred stories.Retrieving data. Wait a few seconds and try to cut or copy again.
