For years, we’ve shown up for temporary migrant workers in California and together, we turned possibility into progress.
Before the bill made its way to the Governor’s desk, it was amended in the Senate to cover agricultural workers only. While that narrows its scope, it still means protection for the most vulnerable category of temporary migrant workers—those who harvest and produce our food. This new law also lays a foundation for broader protections in future legislation.
We made sure the Governor heard from you, handing in our petition of 44,407 signatures soon after the bill hit his desk.
But the fight doesn’t end here. On World Day for Decent Work, we’re reminded that safe, fair, and dignified labor is a right for all workers. Together, bit by bit, we’re making that right a reality.
Thank you for all you’ve done to support temporary migrant workers in California.
This win wouldn’t have happened without you!
