The Brand Pivot No One Talks About (But Everyone Needs)

By Christine Ntim
Last year, I made several strategic shifts in my personal brand and business portfolio — and I brought you behind the scenes as I launched webinars, coaching programs, and retreat experiences. I want to revisit that conversation because evolving your career strategy and repositioning yourself is never easy or straightforward… but it’s always necessary. My hope is that you’ll also take that leap of faith to reimagine your positioning and embrace a fresh, intentional approach to life and business planning.
First, as a community we easily recognize immediate signs of transitions in the human experience such as the first time you go to school, or when you get a new job, losing a loved one, when you get married, welcoming a new child to the family, etc. These are all life chapters that are part of the human experience that we can all understand makes a fundamental shift in your thinking.
Yet what about the life milestones that probably don’t receive the same level of praise and celebrations.
Such as the first time you experienced depression, or the first time you experienced your parents in their truest form with their mistakes laid bare to analyze, or experiencing financial hardship or failing to accomplish an important goal for the 17th damn time!
Some of these are silent battles and some are loud and embarrassing.
Regardless, all of these are part of the human experience and when you experience such things, you change, you evolve, you grow.
I hope that it is for the better. But sometimes these experiences can become setbacks.
Setbacks are not always bad. Sometimes you need to go back to the beginning again to evaluate who you once were in order to figure out who you need to be going forward.
So why am I saying all this?
A lot has happened.
Which means I experienced a lot of unique things along the way and also learned many new lessons too.
So here are 3 new takeaways that I hope brings you insight if you too are going through a major transition.
Stop pushing unrealistic timelines. There is a quote that surfaced online “The authentic path may take you longer but your impact will be legendary” and that hit home for me. Everyone is pretending like they are living their best lives on social media with shortcuts and gimmicks but deep down many are insecure, unhappy and not truly promoting realistic depictions of their lives. I hope you find comfort in knowing that everything that is meant for you will come if you maintain your resilience, passion and pursuit. Go at the pace that suits you best, not what others say it should take.
Don’t assimilate. I’m finding that too many creators, entrepreneurs and influencers in this generation are becoming too homogenous. It feels like the same play but different place. Don’t conform. I realize even in building bridges with new cultures and new environments you can’t lose yourself in the process. Bring all of you to the table in its purest form. Believe me, authenticity is so rare these days that when you show up as yourself, it’s like a breath of fresh air.
Experiment without permission. Even with 10 years of experience under my belt as an entrepreneur and one with multiple global accolades, iconic clients and career breaking successes, I am still trying new approaches that require me to be humble and start from scratch. I am not a “what if” person. “Why not” is my motto and I take every chance I can to try new things because I know it’s in those bold steps that I discover new parts of myself. So do the hard things with no hesitation. If you fall hard on your face then so be it. The other side of trying can be the breakthrough you’ve been looking for.
Let me know if you feel the same.
I would love to hear from you. Stay in power.
Best,
Christine Ntim

And now, I’m going to show you exactly how you can do the same — starting right now.
