One of the areas we will cover in the Get Booked to Speak Bootcamp Live 2025  is “How to Get Paid Virtual Speaking Engagements. As we countdown to the live session, I want to breakdown the approach to this goal.

As shared before, Speaking is one of the fastest ways to:

Build instant credibility in your industry
Attract new career and business opportunities
Generate income from your expertise (without leaving home)

And thanks to virtual platforms, you can now get booked by organizations worldwide — while working from your laptop.

The 3 Platforms That Get Me 70–80% of Paid Gigs

Over the past 10 years, I’ve booked hundreds of paid speaking engagements. When I look back, three platforms consistently drive the majority of my paid work:

LinkedIn

  • Search “Call for Speakers” or “RFP Speakers”  or “RFP Corporate Facilitator” regularly targeting institutional bids that pay $10k+ per gig.
  • OR Connect directly with corporate trainers, HR leaders, and event coordinators — they’re the ones who have the budgets to pay $5K–$10K+ for speakers by adding them to your network. Pitch them directly once you are connected.
  • OR update your SEO ranking with key “speaker” “facilitator” terms in your title, headline and descriptions. Publish your keynote talk and leverage it to get inbound leads.

Electives.io (and similar corporate training platforms)

  • These platforms connect corporations with trainers and speakers. The majority of the opportunities are virtual and less than 60 minutes. Many companies are still doing virtual workshops post-COVID — which means no flights, no hotels, just content and impact.
  • Pro tip: Google competitors of Electives.io, apply to multiple platforms, and get listed — they’ll promote your profile for free as a new speaker.

StreamYard

  • Not just for hosting — it’s a brand visibility machine.
Use it to run your own webinars, roundtables, or panels. Invite corporate decision-makers as panelists — this positions you as a peer while showcasing your speaking ability.
  • The result? They see you in action and are far more likely to book you for their paid events.

What You Need to Get Started

Before pitching yourself for virtual gigs, make sure you have:

  • A Speaker One-Pager (bio, topics, testimonials, past speaking engagements)
A Signature Talk (your “product” that event organizers actually buy)
  • A Speaker Reel (30–60 sec highlight video of you on stage or online)

These three assets dramatically increase your chances of being booked.

Getting paid as a virtual speaker isn’t about luck — it’s about positioning.

When you:Show up consistently on LinkedIn, get listed on corporate training platforms, and leverage tools like StreamYard strategically,…you build credibility, visibility, and income — all without leaving home.

We will cover the full implementation strategy next week.
