New Patient Information Office opens in Grand Cayman

The Cayman Islands continue to strengthen their position as a key international connection hub, now also in specialized healthcare.
On Thursday, February 19, Mayo Clinic will officially open a Patient Information Office in George Town, its first in the Cayman Islands and third in the Caribbean. The office is designed to support patients, families and health insurers seeking to connect with Mayo Clinic for complex or unresolved medical conditions.
The Cayman office will provide free, non-clinical support, including:
- Appointment coordination at Mayo Clinic campuses in the U.S. and London
- Facilitation of medical record reviews
- Guidance on travel, accommodation, insurance and billing logistics
- Others
On the occasion of the opening, Dr. Rafael Sierra, Mayo Clinic’s Medical Director for the Americas, will be available for on-site or virtual interviews on Thursday morning to discuss:
- What this office means for patients and families in the Cayman Islands
- How Mayo Clinic coordinates care across borders for complex cases
- The role of patient navigation in improving outcomes and experience
- Mayo Clinic’s long-term commitment to the Caribbean region
Dr. Sierra can also speak on topics related to his clinical expertise, including advances in hip and knee reconstruction and the growing demand for specialized orthopedic care in an aging population, among others.
