Local Cayman Chef needs help after being knocked off his bicycle by a HIT & RUN driver

Demry Rankine, also known as the “Rasta Chef”, has been in a coma for nearly four months and was given no hope of surviving, has begun to show signs of life.
On the evening of 25 April, Denry, was hit on South Church Street, close to Smith Barcadere, by a dark coloured SUV. The SUV left the scene before the EMS or the police arrived.
Denry has been in the critical care unit at the George Town hospital ever since.

Donations can be made online to the Rankine family through Cayman ARK here.
These funds will go directly to his cause.
A 20-year-old woman from West Bay was arrested the following day in relation to the collision and a number of other driving offences. To date, the woman has not been charged. However, we understand, the RCIPS investigations are continuing.
