The Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands National Attractions Authority (CINAA) have today made a decision to place the Director of the CINAA on Administrative Leave effective immediately, and until further notice.
The Cayman Islands Government Internal Audit Service (IAS) has been conducting an investigation and audit into a number of serious allegations concerning the Director and other senior staff at the CINAA.
Following a recent update from the IAS, the Board of Directors has determined that at this juncture the action taken today is in the best interest of the CINAA.
Mr. John Lawrus, General Manager, will act as Director in the interim and until further notice.
At the appropriate time in the future, further public statements will be made.

The Ministry of Tourism and Trade Development and the newly appointed Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands National Attractions Authority (CINAA) are aware of a number of recent serious allegations against the Director and other senior employees of the Authority.
The newly appointed Board will discuss these matters at its imminent inaugural meeting and will take appropriate action to determine the facts. Once the facts are established, those facts will determine the Board’s decisions with respect to the allegations.At the appropriate time in the future, further public statements will be made.
In the meantime, the Board appreciates the public’s patience as it works independently and impartially to determine the actual facts in this matter.
