JN Cayman Employees Shine in Fine Arts Competition

JN Cayman is turning internal recognition into a public statement of its strength, after its team captured multiple top awards in a creative competition that spanned the wider Jamaican-based JN Group, demonstrating the company’s talent, innovation and collaborative spirit.
The JN Group’s “Xpressionz Fine Arts Competition” is an annual programme where employees submit entries across categories including music, short story, speech, visual arts, digital media and door décor, with winners celebrated for their originality, creativity and teamwork. The competition is designed to highlight employee talent across the JN Group while encouraging collaboration, engagement and representation in a fun and inclusive environment.
The 2025 competition winners were recently announced, with the JN Cayman team dominating several categories and securing a reputation as one of the most creatively dynamic teams within the JN Group.
In the music category, a trio from the company- Andrew Swearing, Matthew Durham and Yanive Nelson claimed first place, while Mr Durham also earned third place individually. Individually, Yanive Nelson also captured first place in short story writing, while Mr Durham emerged as the
speech category champion.
The JN Cayman operations team of Annette Henningham, Beverley Prescod, Dawn Ritch-Steele, Marcia Wellington and Tisa Pickersgill-Rankin, also captured first place in door décor, impressing judges with their creativity and teamwork.
Mr Durham, who is the Branch Manager for JN Cayman, said their success in the competition was more than a celebration of creativity, noting that the results align with the company’s broader strategy to strengthen brand visibility, boost team engagement and showcase the talent that drives its operations.
“As one of the smaller entities within the JN Group, we saw an opportunity to elevate our name and brand while simultaneously driving engagement within the team. By participating across several categories, this approach supported both increased visibility and stronger team
involvement, helping to solidify our presence not only within the JN Group but here in the Cayman Islands,” he said.
He added that by engaging in the competition, JN Cayman fostered morale, strengthened teamwork and encouraged staff to showcase skills beyond their daily professional roles, qualities that reinforce confidence among clients and partners in the Cayman Islands and beyond.
“The competition encouraged fun, inclusivity and broad staff participation, without the pressure of winning. Instead, the focus was on representation, showcasing our company’s talents and celebrating the diverse skills within the team. The success supports our strategic focus on
elevating our profile and reinforcing the value of our people,” he stressed.
Beverley Prescod, Assistant Vice President – Operations, added that through the achievements from the Xpressionz competition and its strategic focus on people and brand, JN Cayman continues to position itself as a trusted financial partner, combining professional expertise with
creative approaches to engagement and growth.
