Sustainable Economic Development & Investment

Sustainable Transport Saves Lives

With 13.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions originating from transport, revolutionising this sector is essential against climate change. Sustainable transport holds the key to this transformation. By dramatically reducing emissions whilst maintaining safety and affordability, sustainable transport creates equitable mobility access for everyone. The benefits extend far beyond environmental impact.

It’s about driving economic stability, enhancing public health, strengthening energy security, and more through strategic integration of cutting-edge technology, smart infrastructure, forward-thinking policy, and behavioural innovation.

Yet significant barriers remain: regulatory gaps, entrenched fossil fuel dependence, persistent subsidies, and technological limitations continue to slow progress. These pressing challenges will take centre stage during next month’s Virtual Island Summit, featured in Track 1: “Sustainable Economic Development & Investment.” You have already registered, share the event!
