EY to Host Free Lunch & Learn on Business Valuation – September 5

David Shibli

George Town, Cayman Islands – August 25, 2025 — EY Cayman Islands, in partnership with the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, will host a complimentary Lunch & Learn session focused on Business Valuation on Friday, 5 September from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chamber offices located at Governor’s Square.  Lunch will be provided.

This educational event is designed to provide business owners, entrepreneurs, and financial decision-makers with a foundational understanding of business valuation—what it is, why it matters, and how it can be applied in real-world scenarios.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • Valuation standards, premises of value, and valuation dates
  • The three main valuation approaches
  • A practical, interactive valuation example of a well-known private company
  • Types of valuation assignments and their applications

David Shibli, Manager in EY’s Transactions & Corporate Finance team, will lead the session. “Valuation is the most fundamental concept in finance and is essential in order to make optimal decisions for your business and its stakeholders,” said Shibli. “Join our session hosted by EY which explores the foundations of business valuation and valuation methods. We will run through an interactive business valuation example and, if you are minded, provide a steer as to the key drivers for your business and what it may be worth.”

Whether preparing for a sale, raising capital, succession planning, or navigating mergers and acquisitions, understanding business valuation is critical. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other professionals and engage directly with EY’s Transactions & Corporate Finance team during a Q&A session.

Registration is free but space is limited.
