Cayman: Traffic Stop Leads to Recovery of Substantial Quantity of Ganja

Shortly after 9:40PM Thursday, 21 August, officers were conducting a vehicle checkpoint along Yacht Drive when they detected the strong scent of ganja coming from a vehicle which had just been stopped at the checkpoint. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and its occupants, recovering multiple packets of suspected ganja. The occupants of the vehicle, a woman, age 22, and a man age 23, both residing in West Bay, were taken into custody

Officers then conducted a search of their residence, and recovered a significant quantity of suspected ganja. Both the man and the woman, and another resident of the address, a woman age 54, were arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja and possession of ganja with intent to supply.

They remain in custody as investigations continue.
