Cayman: Public Accounts Committee Hearing | 15th and 16th January 2026 at 10:00am

The Standing Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, 15th
January, and Friday, 16th January 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. to examine the Auditor General’s
performance report, “Financial Reporting of the Cayman Islands Government: General Report on
the Results of the 2024 Financial Audits 31 December 2024 (October 2025)”.
Members of the PAC reviewed and discussed the Auditor General’s report during the
Committee’s regular administrative meeting on 2nd October 2025, and agreed to hold a public
hearing to further investigate the report.
The hearing forms part of the Committee’s mandate to promote accountability, transparency,
and sound financial management in the use of public funds. The Auditor General’s report outlines
the results of financial audits conducted across ministries, departments, statutory authorities,
and government-owned entities for the 2024 financial year.
During the two-day hearing, the Committee will examine matters arising from the audit findings
and may question issues related to financial management, compliance with applicable acts and
regulations, and the implementation of previous audit recommendations.
Following the hearing, the PAC will prepare its own report to accompany the Auditor General’s
report. The Committee may make additional recommendations to the Financial Secretary, Chief
Officers, or to the Government pursuant to Standing Order 97(7).
