Cayman: Police Investigate Robbery in West Bay & George Town Incident

Shortly after 5:20PM on Saturday, 29 November, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a restaurant on Stadium Drive in West Bay. It was reported that a man brandishing a machete, entered the restaurant and demanded cash. The man took the cash register and then fled the location on foot, in the direction of Scholars Park. Officers responded to the location and conducted searches, recovering the cash register nearby. No one was injured in the incident.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is asked to contact West Bay CID at 949-3999.
At about 2:40PM on Friday, 28 November, officers responded to a report of an incident at a grocery store on Rock Hole Road, George Town, where a masked man had entered the store and brandished what appeared to be a firearm. The man then attempted to take an item of jewellery from the neck of one of the workers. A struggle ensued between them and the suspect eventually fled the location, having been unsuccessful in taking the item. No one was reported injured during the incident.
