Cayman Police Investigate Robbery in George Town

Just after 1:50PM on Friday, 12 December, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a business on Main Street in George Town. It was reported that two masked men entered the establishment, one carrying what appeared to be a firearm, and demanded cash. They unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry to an employee area, before robbing one of the customers at the location of a quantity of cash and fleeing the location on foot. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

One of the suspects is described as being about 6′ in height, of slim build, and wearing dark clothing. The second is described as being much shorter than the first, also wearing dark clothing, and was carrying a handgun.

The matter is under investigation by George Town CID, and detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any relevant information to contact 949-4222.
