Cayman: Police Investigate Robbery in George Town

Shortly after 5:20PM yesterday, 9 August, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a business on North Sound Road, George Town, south of the Butterfield roundabout. It was reported that a masked man had entered the store, brandishing what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded cash from the worker there. He then made off in a vehicle with a pouch containing a quantity of cash. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.
Officers made inquiries and subsequently recovered a vehicle on Whitman Seymour Drive, fitting the description of the vehicle the suspect fled in.
The suspect is described as being tall, slim, and was wearing black pants a hoodie, and mask.
The matter is currently under investigation by George Town CID, and anyone with any information is asked to contact 949-4222.
