Cayman: Operation Winter Guardian Updates
From RCIPS

Thursday 18 December marked one week since the full complement of officers were deployed for Operation Winter Guardian. During this time, the Cayman Community has seen an increased presence of officers in communities and commercial areas, high visibility patrols and vehicle check points, an increase of police operations and search for wanted persons, and an increase in traffic enforcement overall.
Throughout the period, there has been more than 70 arrests made for various offences. More than 15 persons were arrested in relation to drink driving offences. Just under 10 arrests were made in relation to robbery offences, and approximately 15 arrests were drug related in some way. Additionally, there was an increase in traffic prosecutions during this period, the majority of which are for speeding and expired registration.
Operation Winter Guardian will continue throughout the month of December. The aim of the operation continues to be providing a wide approach to the safety and wellbeing of all persons in the Cayman Islands. We encourage the public to make reports of suspicious or illegal activities when you see them, and implore to the motoring public to take precautions during this season to ensure the safety of all road users. Do not drink and drive, reduce your speeds and drive with due care and courtesy.
The RCIPS wishes everyone and safe and happy holiday season.
