Introducing Sir Percival C. Peckington OFE – The Gallery Grumbler

We’re excited to launch Sir Percival C. Peckington OFE – The Gallery Grumbler on our social media! Sir Percival is our beloved taxidermy Grand Cayman parrot (National Bird) from the Natural History Gallery, known for his distinctive British accent—after all, he was taxidermised in the UK. With his sharp wit and humorous take on museums and culture, Sir Percival brings a fresh and entertaining perspective that’s sure to spark lively conversations. Cayman Quadrille Dance Class

Thank you to everyone who joined the Cayman Quadrille traditional dance class, presented in partnership with the National Gallery and the National Museum. The class was led by the Museum’s Brian Watler Jr. and formed part of our new wellness programme. Participants enjoyed learning and celebrating this important cultural tradition together. Attendees were also invited to continue the journey by joining the second wellness workshop at the Museum on Saturday, 10 January 2026, from 10 to 11 AM.

Speaker Series – Beyond the Drop Off: The Cayman Trench, Hydrothermal Vents, and Deep-Sea Exploration

The December Speaker Series webinar, Beyond the Drop Off: The Cayman Trench, Hydrothermal Vents, and Deep-Sea Exploration, was held on Thursday, 18 December 2025. Blue Belt Programme Officer and Cayman team lead Kelly Forsythe delivered a second engaging presentation, building on her November Speaker Series talk. Participants received an exclusive preview of the upcoming deep-sea research expedition aboard the R.R.S. James Cook, exploring the Cayman Trench, hydrothermal vents, and the frontiers of deep-sea exploration.
