From RCIPS

Early on Sunday morning, 11 January, officers in the vicinity of Selkirk Drive in George Town observed two masked men behaving suspiciously. Officers approached the men and detained them for questioning. One of the men was carrying a hatchet. Officers conducted a search of the men and a loaded firearm was found in a bag carried by the other man.

The firearm, hatchet, and other items were seized and both men, age 30 residing in Bodden Town, and 35 residing in George Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and going equipped for stealing. Following enquiries, police have ascertained that one of the men is an overstayer of almost 4 years. They remain in custody as investigations continue.
