Cayman: High School football returns

Now in its eighth year, the always exciting 2025 Dart Under 13 high school football leagues return
to the fields of Grand Cayman as the Islands’ high schools battle for bragging rights and the
prestigious Dart Cup.

Defending girl’s and boy’s champions Cayman Prep & High School begin the defence of their Dart
Under 13 girls’ and boys’ high school football titles on Wednesday, September 17 and Thursday,
September 18 respectively as the 2025 Dart Under 13 high school football leagues kick off with a
full schedule of games.

Cayman Prep’s young ladies went undefeated during the 2024 season to retain their Dart Under 13
title with Cayman International School (CIS) finishing runners-up.

Not to be outdone, Cayman Prep’s boys also went undefeated on their way to winning the Dart
Under 13 Boys’ Champions Cup as they squeezed past a spirited CIS A 2-1 in a very exciting final.
John Gray High School defeated rivals Clifton Hunter High School 6-5 in a penalty shootout to finish
third.

St. Ignatius Catholic School lifted the Dart Under 13 Boy’s Consolation Cup after topping newcomers
Footsteps School 3-0 in the final.

2024 marked the first year where a Champions Cup and Consolation Cup system was introduced for
the boys to give the schools more games. Organisers plan to introduce a similar system for the girls
during the 2025 season. This system has proven to be extremely successful in the CUC Primary
Football League (PFL) and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL).

The Dart Under 13 leagues will continue every Wednesday and Thursday until the mid-term break
in October at venues across the Island including the Annex Field, CIFA Field, Haig Bodden Field, Camana Bay Sports Complex, St. Ignatius Catholic Field, Academy Field, Clifton Hunter High School
Field and the new John Gray High School Fields. Start times are between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Schools participating in the Dart Under 13 leagues this year include John Gray High School, Clifton
Hunter High School, Triple C, St. Ignatius Catholic High School, Footsteps School, Cayman Prep &
High School, Cayman Academy, Cayman International School and newcomers Clever Fish High
School.

Following the mid-term break, the Appleby Under 18 boys’ and girls’ leagues will commence and
continue until the first week in December. These games will also be played on Wednesdays for the
girls and Thursdays for the boys.

Complete schedules, scores and standings can be viewed on the Cayman Youth Football Leagues
