Cayman Drama Society’s “Cinderella” is “MAGICAL”

It’s been a long time since the CDS have presented a “PANTOMIME” and they couldn’t have picked a better one than “CINDERELLA” . “CINDERELLA” is one of the best known “fairy” stories into a “PANTO”.

I have been told by the Producer of the show not to give away the ending and as times have changed (and not for the better) probably the “Cinderella” story is not a staple children’s story as it was in my young day in England.

The main difference with a pantomime and a standard stage play is there is no fourth wall. The cast can and is encouraged to have intercourse with the audience, especially the children. You van boo the villains and cheer the heroes. And loudly!

This version of ‘Cinderella’ by Bradford and Webster contains all the standard panto elements and my wife, Joan, and I enjoyed the show very much. We both shouted at the cast and they shouted back. It was all great fun.

We urge all of you with families to go to this show. All the cast are excellent with some real standout performances. There is singing, dancing, beautiful sets and costumes and you MUST GO AND SEE IT.
