Cayman Actuarial Network Officially Launches to Strengthen Cayman’s Actuarial Community

Rachel Funk

The Cayman Actuarial Network (CAN) officially launched with its social media pages in December, and website in February, marking an important milestone for the actuarial profession in the Cayman Islands. Designed as a central hub for actuaries at all career stages, CAN brings professionals together to encourage collaboration, support professional development, and facilitate knowledge-sharing within Cayman’s growing actuarial sector.

Through networking, educational initiatives, and community engagement, this network aims to strengthen the local actuarial community while contributing to the long-term success and reputation of Cayman’s financial services industry.

“The launch of the Cayman Actuarial Network represents an important milestone for the actuarial profession in Cayman,” said Rachel Funk of Aureum Re and Regulatory Vice Chair of CIRCA, who was instrumental in bringing the initiative to life. “CAN has been created to connect professionals, encourage collaboration, and support the development of actuarial talent locally. We’re excited to see this network grow and deliver meaningful value to our community.”

The Cayman Actuarial Network is supported by the Cayman International Reinsurance Association (CIRCA), whose backing underscores the importance of actuarial expertise within Cayman’s broader insurance and reinsurance ecosystem.

“CIRCA is proud to support the Cayman Actuarial Network as it launches,” said Conor Kearney, Marketing Chair of CIRCA. “A strong actuarial community is essential to the continued success and credibility of Cayman’s insurance and reinsurance sector. CAN will play a valuable role in developing talent, strengthening professional connections, and reinforcing Cayman’s position as a leading international financial centre.”
