winston“Roy McTaggart and Winston Connolly will put Country First,” said C4C. “We commend their independence from divisive political parties and commitment to bringing ethical leadership to our Assembly. We need more independent MLAs like Roy and Winston who will always do what is right for our Cayman Islands instead of what is best for party leaders.”

Roy McTaggart was a managing partner for one of the world’s largest accounting firms and previously served as Director and Chairman of the Board for Cayman Airways Limited. With a long record of volunteerism and community outreach, he has been involved with the Young Caymanian Leadership Foundation and served in multiple board positions for the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce.

“I am honored to have the support of Coalition for Cayman because of its commitment to returning honesty and integrity to our Government,” said McTaggart. “We can never be too honest. As a CPA, I’ve followed a strict code of ethics my entire career. As a MLA, I’ll work to make ethics a priority in our government, including policies that bring more transparency to government projects and spending.”

Winston Connolly is a qualified attorney and partner in a financial services company in which he acts as a director to a number of high profile investment funds. He is the current Secretary of the Caymanian Bar Association, past Chairman of the Cayman Islands Financial Services Council, past Deputy Chairman of the Cayman Islands Business Staffing Plan Board, past President of the Grand Cayman Rotary Sunrise Club, past Secretary and Vice President of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society, a two-time finalist for the Young Caymanian Leadership Award, and volunteer with Legal Befrienders, amongst other government and volunteer organizations.

Struggling families, professional advancement and education standards are worth fighting for, and that’s why I’m running for MLA for George Town,” said Connolly. “I subscribe to the principles of the Coalition for Cayman and believe it is time to bring strong, independent-minded leadership to the Legislative Assembly that will rise above the deviseness of party politics and offer sound, bi-partisan solutions to Cayman’s biggest challenges.”

Additional endorsements for the Legislative Assembly will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information on Roy McTaggart and Winston Connolly, please visit www.RoyMcTaggart.ky and www.WinstonConnolly.ky.
