Thursday, March 12, 2026―The University of the West Indies (The UWI) Global Campus will host its 2026 Annual Report Presentation and Council Meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Caribbean/9:00 a.m. Jamaica/8:00 a.m. Belize Time. The meeting will be held virtually, enabling participation from Council members and stakeholders across the Caribbean.

As is customary, the meeting will be chaired by the Honourable Ambassador Dr June Soomer, Chair of The UWI Global Campus Council. Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of The University of the West Indies; Dr Francis O. Severin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of The UWI Global Campus; Dr Emily Dick-Forde, Deputy Principal; and other members of the Global Campus Senior Management Team (GCSMT) will address the public session of the meeting.

The main presentation will be the Principal’s Annual Report, themed Paving Global Pathways: Rooted in Caribbean Excellence. In his presentation, Dr Severin will highlight the accomplishments of the Campus during the 2024/2025 Academic Year, outlining its performance and key achievements. He will also speak to how the Campus continues to expand access to world-class education while remaining grounded in Caribbean values, culture, and intellectual traditions.

The Council meeting will bring together representatives from ministries of education across the Region, The University of the West Indies, The UWI Alumni Association, and the Guild of Students, who will participate via the Zoom online platform.

The public session will be open to specially invited guests, members of the public, and the regional media, and will be broadcast live via www.uwitv.global, UWItv’s FLOW EVO cable channels, and the BLUU Mobile App. Following the presentations, members of the regional media will be invited to pose questions.

During the closed session, Council members will receive and discuss the Audited Financial Statements, the Audit Committee Report, the Student Guild Statement, and The UWI Global Campus Alumni Report. Discussions will also focus on how the Campus is leveraging its resources and partnerships to expand access, foster regional and global collaboration, to deliver transformative learning experiences rooted in Caribbean excellence.
