Caribbean Leaders to Discuss Climate, Energy and Development Finance at Global Sustainable Islands Summit in Gran Canaria, 20-22 April 2026

Senior policymakers, development leaders and climate diplomacy representatives from the Caribbean will participate in the Global Sustainable Islands Summit (GSIS) in Gran Canaria, Spain this April.  

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Julian Fraser, Deputy Premier, Government of the British Virgin Islands
  • Reuben T. Meade, Premier, Government of Montserrat
  • Ambassador Liz Thompson, Deputy President of the Senate of Barbados and Ambassador for Climate Change and Small Island Developing States
  • Katherine Ebanks-Wilks, Minister for Health, Environment & Sustainability Cayman Islands Government
  • Konris Maynard, Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities, Domestic Transport, Information, Communication and Technology and Posts Government of St Kitts and Nevis
  • Zhavargo Jolly, Minister of Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries and the Environment, Turks and Caicos Islands Government
  • Gene Leon, Executive Director, Development Bank for Resilient Prosperity
