Exciting new courses from Lorna Murphy at the Cayman Chamber

Lorna Murphy

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce continues to strengthen its professional development offerings through the work of leading Training Facilitator Lorna Murphy, whose psychology-driven, people-centred approach has shaped some of the Chamber’s most impactful courses. With more than 20 years’ experience across psychology, neuroscience, coaching, NLP, and psychotherapy, Murphy is known for her energising delivery style and the safe, supportive learning environments she creates—spaces where participants gain both practical skills and personal insight.

Her recent Time Management and Productivity workshop offered a clear example of what makes her training special. Though a standalone course, it captures the heartbeat of her wider portfolio, including new modules in the Chamber’s flagship Essentials of Leadership series. Participants experience a blend of realworld tools and psychology-based understanding—an approach echoed in courses such as Delegation, Time Management and Running Successful Meetings and Performance Reviews & Mental Health Awareness, where leaders learn to prioritise wisely, communicate clearly, and balance accountability with empathy.

Whether Lorna is teaching new hires in You’ve Got the Job — Now What? or guiding senior managers through performance conversations, she returns to the same core idea: when people understand their own behaviour—and others’—they work with greater clarity, confidence, and well-being.

Participants in the Time Management course said the experience was both eye-opening and immediately useful. “Ms. Lorna is very energetic. She makes the courses easily digestible. She provided practical tools and techniques while reeducating us on what proper time management means, and things we may be doing that hinder our time management,” said attendee Rochelle Mendez.

Wine specialist Michael Kennedy said the course resonated beyond the workday:
“This course is excellent – very thoughtful… Miss Lorna explains how time management can improve not only your work habits, but also your personal life. She gave us the tools to analyse our timemanagement downfalls… My takeaway is that I can now use those tools to accomplish my goals on time, which relieves stress and makes for a healthy and happy home life.”

Chamber Training Coordinator Emily Sintorn noted that this level of impact is typical of Murphy’s sessions:
“Lorna has a unique ability to make people feel both supported and challenged. Time management sounds simple, but she helps participants see themselves clearly—what helps them, what holds them back, and what small changes can transform their workday. The feedback from this session shows just how empowering that clarity can be.”

Across all her courses, Murphy weaves together emotional intelligence, behavioural awareness, and practical frameworks—whether she’s helping teams run better meetings, delegates learn to let go, or new employees adapt to workplace culture. Her training consistently equips Cayman’s workforce with the skills and selfunderstanding needed to thrive in a fastmoving, relationshipdriven professional environment.
