MPE CARIBBEAN REPORT NEWSLETTER – December 22, 2025

December 22, 2025

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

Season’s Greetings from the MPE Caribbean Report Newsletter

As the year draws to a close, we take this moment to pause, reflect and appreciate what matters most — family, friendship, health and the privilege of making a positive difference in the lives of others. Whether you’re at home in the Caribbean or celebrating from afar, this is a time to slow down, express gratitude and reconnect with the people and places that bring you joy.

May the spirit of the season remind us of the values that unite us — generosity, kindness and hope. Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, may you enjoy peace in your heart, inspiration for the year ahead and renewed energy to continue building stronger communities and a more connected Caribbean.

Life Needs the Caribbean

As winter officially begins, the Caribbean is brimming with optimism for a robust tourism season.

Traditionally the most profitable period for the region, this year’s outlook is especially promising as travelers from places like North America and Europe seek warmth, renewal and authentic experiences amid chilly temperatures across the globe.

Despite a year marked by geopolitical instability, rising costs and shifting travel patterns, the Caribbean remains one of the world’s most desirable destinations — offering the comfort of familiarity, the joy of discovery, and the power of connection.

With new airlift, expanding hotel inventory and renewed energy across destinations, the region is ready to welcome millions in search of sun, sea and serenity. Yet beyond the arrivals and revenues, the season represents something deeper — a reminder that the Caribbean continues to nourish the spirit of global travelers and fuel the livelihoods of its people. As winter settles in elsewhere, one thing is certain: Life needs the Caribbean.

Celebrating 12 years of creativity and commitment — Abdul Wahid

MPE’s Abdul Wahid

Marketplace Excellence is proud to celebrate one of our brightest stars — Abdul Wahid — who marks an incredible 12 years of artistry, innovation and dedication to our clients and the Caribbean region.

What began as an exploratory meeting in a café in Karachi between MPE President Bevan Springer and a young artist with a portfolio full of ideas has blossomed into a creative partnership that continues to shape the visual identity of Caribbean tourism and communications. From concept to completion, Wahid’s work has elevated campaigns, events and storytelling that connect the world to our region’s beauty, resilience and diversity.

Born in Karachi and raised in Dubai, Wahid is a self-taught fine artist whose fascination with computer-generated imagery turned into a lifelong pursuit of visual excellence. By 18, he was landing freelance design projects, and in 2008, he earned certification in 3D Architecture and Interior Design. Over the years, he has evolved from producing static imagery to mastering motion graphics and animation — always pushing creative boundaries and inspiring those around him.

Beyond his remarkable design prowess, Wahid is an exemplar of professionalism and purpose — someone who inspires our team not only through his calm approach and discipline but also through his kindness, humility and deep spiritual awareness. His presence brings balance and focus — a quiet reminder that creativity and character go hand in hand.

As we celebrate this milestone, we thank Wahid for his unwavering commitment to excellence and his exceptional contribution to the MPE family and the wider Caribbean region. Twelve years strong — and the best is yet to come!

Well done, Wahid — here’s to your artistry, integrity and inspiration!

Reflecting on the 2025 Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) Awards & Fundraiser, we once again extend heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, supporters and laureates for making it an exceptional afternoon of fellowship, fun and purpose. Your participation made a real difference. Here’s a flashback to the December 7, 2025, event, featuring remarks from Sir Baltron B. Bethel of The Bahamas, the first CMEx Lifetime Achievement Award recipient

Tink Bout It

“Singapore proved that discipline and imagination can overcome limitations. Barbados, too, can rise — if only we start steering with purpose. We need a Strategic Singapore Model Think Tank, staffed by experienced professionals, to work alongside the government and recommend transformative action.” — Dr. Basil Springer, Director, Marketplace Excellence

Quotable Caribbean

“Some will hate you, pretend they love you now; then behind they try to eliminate you; but who Jah bless, no one curse; Thank God we’re past the worse; hypocrites and parasites will come up and take a bite; and if your night should turn to day; a lot of people would run away; and who the cap fit, let them wear it; who the cap fit, let them wear it.” — Robert Nesta Marley OM, Jamaican singer, songwriter and guitarist

“Come see meh and come live with meh is two different thing.”

This widely shared Caribbean proverb offers insight about the gap between appearance and reality. It means that superficial encounters — a brief visit, a short date or a pleasant weekend — reveal only the polished surface of a person or situation. The true character, flaws and complexities of any long-term commitment emerge under the steady pressures of daily life. It encourages us to look beyond the initial charm before making lasting decisions about relationships, jobs or major life changes.

Mindful Wellness Tips for the Christmas Season

The festive season brings joy, togetherness and celebration — making it the perfect time to take small, mindful steps to stay balanced and energized.

During meals, avoid distractions like television or scrolling on your phone, and instead savor each bite. Mindful eating not only enhances digestion but also helps you appreciate the flavors and nourishment in every meal.

Stay hydrated — drinking enough water boosts energy levels, aids digestion and keeps your skin healthy. For a refreshing twist, infuse your water with local citrus fruits such as oranges or lemons.

A walk in nature can improve mental clarity. Pair this with deep breathing to calm your mind. Try the 4-7-8 technique: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds. This simple practice promotes a sense of calm.

This season, take time to nurture your health — physically, mentally and emotionally. Small, mindful choices can make a big difference.
