2025 CUC PFL/GPFL: Week 9 Review and Preview of Playoffs

Cayman Prep 11A (teal and blue) defeated CIS 11 Blue to remain unbeaten
Schools head into CUC PFL/GPFL Playoffs with unbeaten records
Saturday, November 22 marked the official end of the 2025 CUC Primary Football League (PFL) and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL) regular seasons. Seven schools now take their unbeaten records into the CUC PFL/GPFL Playoffs, with the quarter-finals scheduled for this Saturday, November 29.
In the Under 9 division, Island Primary 9A and Cayman Prep 9A secured perfect seasons in Group A and Group B respectively. On Saturday, Island Primary 9A squeezed by Sir John A. Cumber Primary 9A 1-0 to end the season undefeated. Cayman Prep 9A had already secured Group B as Group B play ended on Saturday, November 15.
In other scores in Group A in the Under 9 division, Joanna Clarke Primary downed Marie Martinrimary 4-0 and CIS 9 White beat Cayman Prep 9B 3-1. CIS 9 White and Cayman Prep 9B join St. Ignatius Catholic and unbeaten Island Primary 9A in the Under 9 Champions Cup while Joanna Clarke Primary, Sir John A. Cumber 9A and Marie Martin Primary will compete in the Consolation Cup.
In Group B, Cayman Prep 9A, Prospect Primary, Footsteps School and Red Bay Primary will compete in the Champions Cup while Island Primary 9B, First Baptist CS and Sir John A. Cumber Primary 9B will play in the Consolation Cup.
In the Under 11 division in Group A, 2024 Consolation Cup champions Marie Martin Primary kept their unbeaten season intact with a 0-0 draw against Joanna Clarke Primary. In other games, Island Primary downed Sir John A. Cumber Primary 1-0, Cayman Prep 11B beat Theoline L. McCoy Primary 6-2 (respect rule enforced) and St. Ignatius Catholic defeated Grace Christian Academy 4-0.
Marie Martin’s Under 11s will participate in the Under 11 Champions Cup along with St. Ignatius Catholic, Island Primary and Sir John A. Cumber Primary. Schools participating in the Consolation Cup from Group A include Cayman Prep 11B, Joanna Clarke Primary, CIS 11 White, Theoline L. McCoy Primary and Grace Christian School.
In Group B, there was one rescheduled game played on Saturday with defending champions Cayman Prep 11A beating CIS 11 Blue 4-0. Defending champions Cayman Prep 11A will compete in the Champions Cup along with CIS 11 Blue, First Baptist and Prospect Primary. Schools from Group B participating in the Consolation Cup include Red Bay Primary, Cayman Brac, Footsteps School and
NorthEast Schools.
In the CUC GPFL, in Group A, CIS Girls White beat Cayman Prep GB 4-0 while the Marie Martin Primary versus Joanna Clarke Primary was postponed. Undefeated Sir John A. Cumber Primary along with St. Ignatius Catholic, Joanna Clarke Primary and CIS Girls White move on to the Champions Cup while Cayman Prep GB and Marie Martin Primary will contest the Consolation Cup.
In the only Group B girl’s game played on Saturday, Cayman Prep GA downed CIS Girls Blue 3-0. Unbeaten NorthEast Schools and Cayman Prep GA along with Island Primary and Red Bay Primary will compete in the Champions Cup with CIS Girls Blue contesting for the Consolation Cup.
The 2025 CUC PFL/GPFL playoffs begin this Saturday, November 29 with the quarter-finals. The semi- finals will be played on Saturday, December 6 with the finals, third-place games and trophy presentation set for Saturday, December 13. All playoff games will be played at the Annex Field.
