Cayman: Vehicle & Driver License Renewals Limited to ONLINE ONLY, Wed – Fri Nov 26th to 28th

DVDL pauses over-the-counter renewals across all locations; public urged to use online services
George Town, Cayman Islands — The Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing (DVDL) advises that over-the-counter vehicle licence renewals and drivers’ licence renewals will not be conducted across all DVDL locations from Wednesday 26 November to Friday 28 November 2025 (inclusive).
Members of the public are encouraged to use DVDL’s online services at www.dvdl.gov.ky to renew their vehicle licence or drivers’ licence during this period.
How to renew your Vehicle Licence online
Ensure your vehicle has:
- Valid insurance.
- A valid Certificate of Roadworthiness/inspection (the next inspection due date must be at least 90 days/3 months in the future).
What you will need:
- Vehicle registration number (licence plate number or text).
- A digital copy of current insurance documents (PDF, PNG, TIFF, GIF or JPEG).
- A valid email address (for your receipt).
- A valid debit or credit card for payment. We accept the following card types:

CCV code and an expiry date within 14 years.
Notes:
- Renewals may only be completed within 30 days or less of the vehicle licence expiry date.
- The selected renewal period cannot exceed the Certificate of Roadworthiness/inspection expiry date.
- Terminated or suspended vehicle licences are not eligible for renewal.
- Browser guidance: Use Google Chrome, Safari, or Firefox (Internet Explorer is not preferred).
- Enable pop-ups to complete payment.
- Credit/debit card information is not saved.
How to renew your Drivers’ Licence online
- Log in to your eServices account at www.dvdl.gov.ky.
- If you do not have an account, please create one before starting the renewal.
- You will need:
- A valid email address (for your receipt).
- A valid debit or credit card for payment. We accept the following card types CCV code and an expiry date within 14 years.
- Note: You cannot renew more than one month in advance of your licence expiry date.
