Dear Members and Friends of the Cayman Drama Society

We are delighted to share some exciting news as we look ahead to the 2025 holiday season! After 10 wonderful years of A Playhouse Family Christmas, Frizz & Grizz will be taking a well-deserved rest (we suspect they’re still causing holiday mischief somewhere). 

APlayhouse Family Christmas will always hold a special place in our hearts and in Cayman’s Christmas memories. 

 It may return again in the future, but for now, we are thrilled to bring back pantomimes to our stage and our community. We’re unwrapping something OLD but NEW for the holidays this year…

 Cinderella — The Pantomime! 

Get ready for:

• Larger-than-life characters
• Audience participation
• Silly jokes, music, and plenty of sparkle
• And all the joyful chaos only a true panto can bring! 

This will be our first Panto in 12 years, and we can’t wait to share the experience, new laughter, and new faces with our CDS family and our wider Cayman community. 

What is a Panto? A pantomime or panto is a fun, family-friendly style of theatre traditionally performed late in the year or in January in the UK and many parts of the Commonwealth. It features colorful characters, comedy, music, dancing, and lots of audience participation, including shouting out responses, booing the villains, and cheering for the heroes! Pantos often put a playful, humorous twist on well-known fairy tales, with exaggerated costumes, women playing men, men playing women, witty jokes, and a few surprises along the way. The goal is simple: to make audiences of most ages laugh, join in, and enjoy a magical holiday experience together. 

Our show is most suitable for school-age children and up, but all are welcome. Some Cadbury chocolate buttons will be thrown into the audience.
