rFom November 10th to 21st, all eyes will be on Belém (Brazil) for the highly anticipated UN Climate Change Conference (COP30). The conference is regarded as a decisive stage for the voices of island communities to be heard and to seek solidarity and cooperation from larger nations.

The Island Innovation team will be on the ground in Belém, providing critical communications support to ensure island perspectives shape COP30 outcomes.

This year’s Island Voices @ COP30 platform will comprise 2 key areas: 

• The daily bulletin shares key news, highlights, events, and insights most relevant for islands, delivered to your inbox throughout COP30. This is your direct line to island climate action as it unfolds.
• The events programme brings together island leaders, policymakers, and practitioners. So far, we have four virtual sessions accessible globally, and two high-profile side events at the CARICOM and IOM Pavilions in Belém. Joining us as speakers are Pamela Abreu (Head of Mitigation Department, Dominican Republic Climate Change Council), Paulo Veiga (President of the Fundação Carlos Albertino Veiga), and Tanya August-Phillips (Member of the Parliament of the Isle of Man), and more.
