IMPT:Checklist for “Call for Speakers” Opportunities

By Christine Ntim

Last week, I sent a list of events looking for speakers!

Here is a list the list again:

Happy to share that like always, some of you are already on it engaging with the organizers to close a paid gig this fall.

Some of you emailed the account asking what to say, what marketing materials to send and how to close these gigs via a phone call.

So here is a brief list of things that corporate decision makers will look at before considering you for their event.

Checklist for Any “Call for Speakers” Opportunity

1. Linkedin profile (All decision makers look at the Linkedin profile. Make sure you are branded as a public speaker). All it takes is 15 minutes to position your profile for speaking gigs. Have a value statement in your title that is formatted like this “I help X(Who) to do X(What) because of X(Why).

Check my Linkedin profile for an example format here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christinentim/ .

Also make sure that you have “speaker” as one of your experiences with photos and images as proof of your ability to hit global stages.

2. Keynote Speech (Preferably one built for the corporate audience on topics that are always trending like leadership, communication, innovation, wellness etc). Don’t list out all of the topics you can cover- it makes you generic. Pick one title that you can speak on and have a 1 page proposal summary of the benefits and target audience for the talk.

3.Website (or landing page to get access to your bio, speaker topics, and traction). This can be done in a day if you don’t have one with a CRM platform like my recommendation- Convertkit. Keep it simple as a 1 pager with all information on you as a public speaker.

These are the 3 immediate things that they will look for. If you don’t have any of these not to worry.

We will cover how to get these ready at the free Get Paid to Speak Bootcamp happening on September 16-18, 2025 at 11am EST daily.

Recordings will be available but live attendees get hot seat coaching on their biggest speaker booking challenges.

Don’t miss out on your opportunity to finally launch your personal brand as a PAID public speaker.

Now is the best time to do this.

There are around 3-5 million speaking opportunities globally each year. And that’s being conservative.

Over 1.9 million conferences and events happen annually in the U.S. alone, according to the Events Industry Council.

So let’s get you on the speaker circuit and paid for experiences that corporations are looking for today!
