CARIBBEAN YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL ENDS ON THE HIGHEST NOTE!

The Caribbean Youth Film Festival, hosted by Dove Productions, marks another successful year of pouring skills of filmmaking and other aspects of film production into young people at the grass roots level.

From August 5th to 15th 2025, a group of young and energetic budding content creators and filmmakers attended a series of workshops at the Anglican Church Annex in Castries. These workshops were filled with practical activities in a variety of topics related to the foundations of filmmaking. The workshops and facilitators were as follows:
Introduction to Film Making – Colin Weekes
Scripting – Dawn French
Acting – Anthony Willie
Journalism – Toni Nicholas
Music and Sound – Carlos St Omer
Social Media Management – Vanetta Phillip
Lighting and Film – Jarde Pierre
Editing – Dexter Phillips
Animation – Malfini Productions
Wardrobe Design – Helena Issac
Budgeting – 1st National Bank

The festival was moderated physically by Juliana Prospere and Margaret Charles, and they led the participants through a number of ice breaking activities including storyboarding through art, which the participants completed within the two week period of the festival.

The young filmmakers had the opportunity to put together a production from start to finish and it was shown on the final day of the festival.
A small celebration was also done on the final day, for participants and facilitators.

The feedback was exceptional and many participants are excited to participate at next year’s festival.
