We received a copy of the Minutes of the Deputy Governor and Chief Officers’ Meeting for 9^th July last Tuesday (17) – see below – that showed Richard Holmwood, the Economic Advisor in the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) attendance at the meeting.

He was introduced to the Chief officers present and he spoke briefly to them in regards to the 2012/13 Budget setting out the expectations of the FCO

Deputy Governor, Franz Manderson, urged all Chief Officers to be available for the Finance Committee who were giving Ministers cost saving measures that will allow the Government to present “a budget that is credible and sustainable” to be approved by early August.

Another minute of note was the one concerning cost saving initiatives including reduction of official travel and the use of government vehicles.
