Cayman: Cabinet Meeting Summary – 17 May 2023

Cabinet Post Meeting Summary

Her Excellency the Governor Mrs. Jane Owen, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held on Wednesday, 17th May, 2023 in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.

The Hon Premier acted as the Minister for Financial Services and Commerce and Ms Heather Bodden acted as Temporary Minister for Investment, Innovation and Social Development. All other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.

At this meeting Cabinet:

  • Approved the Cayman Airways Ltd Pilot’s salary range;
  • Approved the publication of the Unaudited Quarterly Financial Report for the three-month period ending 31st March 2023 and for the report to be tabled in the Parliament;
  • Reviewed and noted the Office of the Commissioner of Police Annual Report for the year ended 31st December 2022 and authorised the Minister responsible to table the Annual Report in the Parliament;
  • Approved the purchase of Block 44B Parcel 399 for public usage and the benefit of future generations;
  • Approved the drafting of Regulations under section 53 (1) (b) of the Immigration (Transition) Act (2022 Revision) to exempt the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority from work permit requirements for a defined and limited timeframe;
  • Approved in accordance with sections 11(5) and 11 (6) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) the following:

• Approved in accordance with the Notaries Public Act (2014 Revision) the applications for appointment as Notaries Public for the following persons: Yoanna Bonilla, Inna Kazakova; Dominique Linwood; Tanasha McRae; Dominic Wheaton; and Eugenie Williams.
