| Anti-slavery activists Foreign court hears legal case from Uyghurs for the first time ever In what is believed to be the first time ever, a foreign court has heard legal arguments from Uyghurs regarding forced labor in China’s Uyghur Region. The World Uyghur Congress and the Global Legal Action Network are bringing the case against the U.K. claiming a failure, or refusal, to investigate imports from the Uyghur Region is unlawful. | Law & policy Italian trade unions and NGOs demand end to Italy-Libya memorandum Around forty NGOs and three Italian trade unions have sent an appeal to the Italian government demanding the Italy-Libya memorandum not be renewed.
