Cayman: Coronavirus Update 27 March

Medical News

Government Decisions, Policies, Programmes

  • From 5.01am-6.59 pm tomorrow 28 March the Cayman Islands will begin a period of soft curfew during which all persons may undertake necessary tasks in the daytime. When not engaging in these activities members of the public  are required to remain at home.  To read the regulations laying out the provisions for a soft curfew visit  http://www.gov.ky/portal/pls/portal/docs/1/12940549.PDF.
  • Hard curfew conditions resume every evening from 7pm to 5am, during which all movement is prohibited except for essential workers going between  their workplace and homes. Examples include emergency medical services, utilities and food delivery. Curfew conditions will be reviewed on 3 April with the potential to be tightened or eased, depending on how successful the country has been in its fight against the spread of COVID-19.
  • Businesses who consider that they are providing an essential service and that their employees should be exempt from the curfew can contact [email protected] to secure the essential designation, or for answers to any questions they may have. A list of categories and examples of exempted businesses is available  from  https://www.exploregov.ky/coronavirus-resources
