Although it was a big disappointment for the children two weeks ago when the Junior Carnival Batabano had to be postponed because of the rain, it was well worth the wait. Last Saturday (12) the event was restaged in glorious sunshine, again at Camana Bay, although the route was changed.

Red Bay Primary School were the big winners coming first in three categories:

 

Best large band

Best overall band

Best Spirit of Batabano

A large crowd gathered there, comprising mainly adoring parents, and they cheered and waved as the children paraded past with smiles and waves too.

This was a nice change over the largely vulgar antics of the adult paraders the previous week.
