For the North Atlantic…Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

1. Widespread cloudiness and showers associated with a broad area of
low pressure are located over the western Caribbean Sea, near
the Central American coast. Close proximity to land is likely to
limit development of this system for the next day or two, however,
environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for some
development to occur thereafter while the system moves slowly
northward over the northwestern Caribbean Sea.
* Formation chance through 48 hours…low…10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days…medium…50 percent.

Synopsis

Moderate easterly winds and seas will continue across the Cayman area today due to a high pressure system over the western Atlantic Ocean. Also weather charts show a cold front over the southeast Gulf of Mexico moving southeast. Radar images show isolated showers in and around the Cayman area moving west.
