Tea party of class

By Georgina Wilcox

To celebrate mothers, on Saturday May 13 the Members of The Mothers Union put on a Tea Party of class at St George’s Anglican Church Hall.

For just $10 the attendees received tea and a variety of exquisite finger food comprising sea food, sandwiches, cakes, pasties and more.

Entertainment came from adults who read poems and sang (including our own Miss Jo), and the scene stealer – two little girls who gave a recitation without any help from written or verbal support. They brought the house down. There was also an instrumental recital from a young teen who I have seen play with The Cayman National Orchestra.

There was a silent auction with items ranging from an iPod player to expensive paintings.

The main entertainment came from a superb fashion Show that was emceed by Radio and Television personality Donna Bush.

I called the event myself a Tea Party of Class. It was indeed a very classy affair.

As M/s Donna said, “I shall definitely be back next year.”

so will I.
