Calling all Cayman Islands’ filmmakers

unnamed[Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands] The Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase (TCFS), a cultural, non-lucrative and regional event, has requested the participation of Caymanian Filmmakers. The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) will be accepting film submissions for the 8th Edition of the Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase. Films must be submitted by December 14th 2016.

Any Caymanian Fillmmaker based locally or abroad, may submit an entry. The TCFS advises that they are accepting films for a variety of topics and stories that express with authenticity and aesthetic value the social reality, history and culture of the Caribbean country. The Showcase will accept works of different cinematographic genres (feature films, short films, documentaries and animated films). Both adults and children’s submissions are being accepted and special importance is being placed on the works made by children and adolescents.

The works selected by the International Committee will be translated and subtitled into English, French and Spanish and exhibited in digital format for thousands of spectators, so they can appreciate the most diverse histories of the Caribbean. The authors of the selected works will receive a master of their films subtitled in the official languages of the region without any cost.

The films should be delivered to the CNCF in DVD format by the authors themselves and it must be accompanied by a synopsis, the technical datasheet and the dialogue list. The inclusion of a film in the program will be carried out according to the requirements expressed in the Legal Agreement, which protects filmmakers´ rights on their works, so these films will not be commercially used without the proper conformity and authorization of the author. At the same time the authors should abide by the regulations established by the Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase.
