25, 2016 at the Lion Community Centre. The grand finale for this campaign was a celebration at the Lions Community Centre and a free event with music by local DJ “Super C” & the “Regeneration Band”.

At the culmination of this fundraising venture, the following prizes were given through a raffle drawing:

First Place Prize – The 2016 Mercedes Benz CLA200 with the AMG package was won by Mr. Luis Farez.

Second Place Prize – The winner of the $1,000 cash prize was Ms. Natalia McCoy.

Third Place Prize – The winner of the $500 cash prize was Mr. P. Davey.

The proud owner the Black 2016 Mercedes Benz CLA200, Mr. Luis Farez, will take possession of the car valued at over $52,000 this week. The vehicle boasts a fully loaded Sports and Performance package and also 5 year/ 62,000 mile Warranty, 3 year Licensing, and 2 year/ 20,000 mile Service. Mr. Farez was very happy to be winning such a great prize. He noted that he has continually supported many service clubs and community organizations in Cayman for the 25 years that he has lived here, but he never thought he would win something like this. The proud owner has made clear that he is handing down his other vehicle to his daughter, and he is absolutely keeping the 2016 Mercede Benz CLA200 for himself. He thanked the Lions Club of Grand Cayman and pledged to continue his support in any way possible.

Ms. Phyllis Moxam, a supporter of the Lions Club of Grand Cayman, was the ticket seller and having sold numerous ticket books for service clubs over the years, she was very excited, as she too was a first time winner. She most certainly expressed her desire to continue to support the Club.

Lion President Ewan Jacques stated that “This fundraiser was a major success due to the hard work by the members of the Lions Club of Grand Cayman, but it would not have been possible without the generous support from the public. We now look forward to using the funds raised to tackle a number of housing-outreach projects, which will once again rely heavily on the members who will undoubtedly find this next stage to be extremely rewarding.”

He added, “We would like to thank Car City and Mercedes Benz, along with retail stores Foster’s Food Fair IGA, Kirk Market, Hurley’s Supermarket and AL Thompson’s for allowing us to sell from their business locations, and other supporters of the Club who helped to broaden the sales campaign by assisting in ticket sales.”
