Robbery and a death on Friday

Robbery

Approximately 12:52am Friday 17 April 2015, officers from George Town Police Station received a report of a robbery on West Bay Road in the vicinity of Cayman Reef Resort.

A lone female alleged, while walking along the West Bay Road on nearing Cayman Reef Resort a male jumped from the bushes armed with a machete, he stole items from her hand bag including a wrist watch. The complainant received a slight injury to her left hand. The accused described as tall , slim, wearing a long sleeve shirt, jeans pants, with his face was covered with a red cloth, spoke with a Jamaican accent. The suspect fled in a dark colour four door motorcar.

Uniform officers arrested a male suspect, on Eastern Avenue on suspicion of robbery, possession of vegetable matter resembling ganja and suspicion of consuming a controlled drug. The 18 year old suspect from George Town was in possession of property reportedly stolen in the robbery. He remains in custody and the matter is under investigation by detectives from George Town Police Station – CID.

Death

A 72 year old Filipino man was found dead in his apartment in Frank Sound, North Side today Friday 17 April 2015.

Around 9:40am police officers were called to the Frank Sound residence by neighbours of the deceased whom they had not seen since Tuesday 14 April 2015. No answer from the decease’s door resulted in a neighbour forcing the front door. There the deceased was found dead lying on his bed. No foul play is suspected.

Enquires continue into the circumstances of the death by detectives from Bodden Town Police Station – CID.
