The Lighthouse School provides intervention and intensive therapy for children with moderate to severe special educational needs, or for children with complex or multiple challenges to their learning. This is a government school for children from ages 4–19. If you feel your child would benefit from this school, you must contact the Senior School Improvement Officer for Special Educational Needs, Mrs. Barbara Peace-Ebanks, at the Department of Education Services (Tel: (345) 945 1199) or email: [email protected]. All children attending the Lighthouse School need to be recommended for entry by the Department of Education Services after assessment by a highly trained, multi–disciplinary team.

Welcome to Lighthouse School. We are a school for students with Special Educational Needs. We opened in 1976, and today is recognized as one of the most successful schools in the country and in the region. We have 89 students, aged 5 -18 years in our day school and 125 students aged birth – 5 years in the Early Intervention Programme.
The keys to our success are high expectations of staff and students, and placing the quality of relationships at the heart of the school. Our students and their families are very much the central focus of everything that we do and all decisions that we make.
We welcome visits to the school, to see it in action and to talk to us about it.
Mrs. Carla MacVicar Principal
Our Mission: “Lighthouse School is committed to helping students with challenging needs develop their unique abilities to their fullest potential through individualized and innovative programmes, implemented by a caring and professional staff in a dynamic partnership with parents and community.”
