Major sponsors support sixth annual Off the Beaten Track

BR1Cayman’s most grueling and exciting race is back. Off the Beaten Track, Cayman’s toughest off-road 50k relay and ultra-marathon, will be taking place Sunday 1 March 2015. Now in its sixth year, runners will get the exhilarating opportunity to venture along hidden back roads, bush, dykes and even some white sandy beach.

Runners ready for a challenge are invited to participate as a solo runner taking on the whole 50K or in relay teams of six, with each runner completing about 8K. Off the Beaten Track Tower-Marketinghas always been a favorite for individuals seeking a different type of race that takes in areas of the island you may not even know exist.

The idea for this style of race originated after Kenneth Krys, KRyS Global’s Executive Chairman & Founder, completed the Marathon Des Sables in the Sahara desert of Africa, and thought Cayman would be the perfect running destination for a similarly challenging race.

Anna Keating, KRyS Global Marketing Manager and Race Brown-Rudnick-MDRsDirector said that this event would not be possible without the support of our sponsors.

“We are thrilled to announce this year’s major sponsors: Tower, Brown Rudnick, Mourant Ozannes and CML TV,” Ms Keating said.

Peter Hayden, Managing Partner at Mourant Ozannes said “It is an amazing race that not only tests the resilience of Cayman’s fittest runners, but more importantly, raises funds and awareness for two worthwhile causes, Meals on Wheels OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACayman and Facing Africa”.

Tower, a strategic marketing and communications agency, has been supporting Off the Beaten Track from day one.

“We are excited to partner with Off the Beaten Track for the sixth year and see it grow every year,” said Tower’s Managing Director, Lynne Byles. “In addition to sponsoring, we also use this opportunity as a team-building exercise, bringing our staff together to run the race as a relay team.”

Corporate sponsorship is still available and volunteers are welcome. Interested parties should contact Catherine Healy 345 815 8407 or [email protected]
