Update: Another car accident fatality in Cayman Brac/CITN reporting mugging on Eastern Ave

Update: MVA Fatality-Cayman Brac

Police can now release the name of the deceased person as Raoul Muhammed Scott, a 19 years old resident, involved in last night’s motor vehicle accident which occurred at approximately 11.15pm in the vicinity of Dennis Foster Road and Ocean Villa Road, Stake Bay, Cayman Brac.

The circumstances are that Mr Scott was driving a red Honda Civic motor vehicle registration number Q3929 along Dennis Foster Road heading East when he was involved in a motor vehicle collision with a white Honda Civic registration number 159-370 travelling in the same direction driven by a 22 year old male near to the junction with Ocean Villa Road.

Mr Scott was taken to the Faith Hospital where he passed away a short time later.

The driver and a 19 year old male passenger of the white Honda Civic were also transported to the Faith Hospital, where they were treated for injuries and later discharged.

Both vehicles received extensive damage.

Police investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the collision.

Police are asking for any witnesses to the accident, were in the area at the time or who have any information to please contact the Cayman Brac Police Station on 948 0331.

UPDATE: the road is now open

Motorists are advised that the road between Skull Cave and the Faith Hospital in Stake Bay is closed to facilitate the investigation of last nights fatal accident.

A further press release will be sent out when it is open.

The same location will be closed again tonight between 11pm and 1am

Fatal accident – Cayman Brac

At 11:23pm Friday January 9th 2015, police and other emergency services responded to a two vehicle collision in Stake Bay Cayman Brac.

One person was transported to Faith Hospital for treatment but later died.

An investigation has commenced into the cause of the fatality and investigators from Grand Cayman will be traveling to Cayman Brac.

More details will follow as the investigation progresses.

CITN reporting mugging on Eastern Ave

CITN/Cayman27 are reporting the RCIPS are “investigating a mugging that took place off Eastern Avenue just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning (10 January). Details are few, but Cayman 27 understands an ambulance was called the scene.”
